Way of use Rose Oil

Aromatherapy

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy utilizes pure, natural, unadulterated aromatic essences, called essential oils and hydrosols, that come from botanical material. These substances can have a broad range of therapeutic effects and actions on the body.

AromatherapyMany of us probably already use essential oils in our daily lives. Most toothpastes and mouth washes contain essential oils, as do some personal care products and perfumes. There are even some baked goods that are made with essential oils. Aromatherapy, however, refers to the therapeutic use of essential oils and hydrosols for health purposes.

Since aromatherapy uses essences derived from plants, it is a botanical therapy, or plant therapy. Other examples of botanical therapeutics include homeopathic remedies, herbal preparations, and flower remedies.

Aromatherapy in Bath and Shower

Use 2-5 drops of essential oils in a mixture of equal parts Epsom or sea salts and vegetable or carrier oil, and massage all over the body before stepping into the shower or tub. The salts will exfoliate and detoxify, while the oils will soften and moisturize the skin.

Add 2-5 drops of essential oils to a handful of Epsom or sea salts, and dissolve in the tub. Jars of bath salts with essential oils added can be made and kept for future use or given as gifts.

Skin Care with Aromatherapy

Essential oils can help with many skin conditions, including dry skin, wrinkles, cellulite, and acne. Use up to 12 drops essential oils per ounce of facial cleansers, crèmes, and lotions.

Purify skin by using essential oils in a facial steam. Boil 2 to 4 quarts of water, pour into a heat safe bowl. Add 2 to 4 drops of essential oils to the steaming water, and position face over the rising steam with a towel tented over the head to hold in the steam. Be sure to keep eyes closed, as essential oil vapors will irritate the eyes.

Essential Oils and Hair Care

Both men’s and women’s hair care routines can be enhanced with essential oils. Those with dandruff, dry hair, and thinning hair may find relief by incorporating essential oils into shampoos and conditioners, or by massaging the scalp with a diluted essential oil preparation. Adding a drop of essential oil to a dollop of shampoo or conditioner just before application is a quick and simple way to use aromatherapy in hair care.

Essential Oils : How it works?

Essential Oils : How it works?Essential oils have known properties that activate an emotional response in the limbic system portion of the brain. The limbic system is responsible for heart rate, breathing, hormone balance, stress levels and the storage of memory and emotional release. Therapeutic essential oils have properties and abilities to help us relax, uplift our spirits, help us focus, improve mental abilities, open spiritual awareness, remove negative feelings and create feelings of love and attraction.

Our sense of smell is one of our most primal senses. When oils are inhaled, scent molecules seat in the olfactory epithelium. This triggers nerve cells and sends electrical impulses to the olfactory bulb in the brain. The olfactory bulb then transmits to the limbic system to the amygdala, where emotional memory is stored. The amygdala is portion of our brain that plays a major role in releasing emotions. The only thing that can stimulate the amygdala directly is through the olfactory system, our sense of smell. The hypothalamus can also be activated, it is our hormone control center. Here chemical messengers are released that can affect everything from sex drive to energy levels.
